  Awful service. Waited half an hour before being asked what we would like to order. Menus were to the side indicating we were ready to order, drinks and water were empty, bread was eaten and nobody came. We asked the waitress who was filling the water at the table next to us if she could take our order. She said she would get our server....he did not come for a while. The table next to us, who was sat after we were, had ordered their food, had their wine poured and refilled before we were even acknowledged. Our server was completely cluesless. We asked if they were short staffed as we had been waiting for along time, he didn't seem to understand. My wife ordered a glass of wine. The waiter returned saying they didn't have that wine and immediately opened a bottle of Cloudy Bay before asking if my wife would like that instead. We declined as the Cloudy Bay was significantly more expensive and it was not expressed if the price would be the same as the original glad that was ordered. Food came and was good if you were eating at a chain restaurant. I was expecting more for a steak that was over $50. I have cooked better steaks at home and I am far from a good cook. My wife had salmon which was described as bland or mediocre. All of this happened after we were at the bar for a drink. There were three of us at the bar. We placed our order and the bartender poured the drinks. For some unknown reason he then took the drinks to the area where the servers pick up beverages to deliver. He then went and spoke to the other person at the bar. After spending 10 minutes with other individual discussing different wines he came back to us asking what we would like. We explained we already ordered and he finally clued in and passed our now warm drinks to us. The Managers at the restaurant were nice enough to take our drinks and sides off the bill. Overall it was an awful experience and we will never be returning. We visited the restaurant on February 13th, reservation was at 8:45pm

  We booked 4 weeks ago for an 8pm dining experience. We were highly recommended to Sidecut. We were dressed up and excited for a Four Seasons experience. Unfortunately we didn't even get to eat there, we were completely disappointed. 3 days ago Sidecut decided to close their dining area for the slow season and put everyone in the bar / lounge area. We were seated beside casually dressed diners, families, children and the lights were bright - no dining ambiance. It felt like we were in a White Spot. I'm sure the food is good but for a girls weekend / night out that had been planned a month in advance it was brutally disappointing. Sidecut should have advised us before we arrived, as the experience we booked for was not what we were given. No apologies were made. No offer to have us back.
